Dr. Daram earned his medical degree at Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India, and completed his residency in internal medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He went on to complete fellowship training in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, followed by specialized fellowship training in pancreato-biliary disorders and advanced therapeutic endoscopy at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. He previously served as an Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of Advanced Endoscopy at the Medical College of Georgia/Augusta University.
Dr. Daram is double board certified in gastroenterology and obesity medicine. He specializes in diagnosing and treating disorders of the pancreas, bile ducts, and esophagus using advanced endoscopic techniques including ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), device-assisted endoscopy, and endoscopic anti-reflux therapy (TIF). He also performs bariatric endoscopy, provides obesity medicine and metabolic health services, and offers routine colonoscopies and upper endoscopies as part of comprehensive gastrointestinal care.
In his clinical work, Dr. Daram actively incorporates artificial intelligence and advanced imaging technology to improve diagnosis and treatment outcomes. His research focuses on endoscopic procedures, training methods, and technology innovation in gastroenterology. He served as Chair of the Endoscopy Committee at Memorial Hermann Southeast and Pearland hospitals, and is a current member of the Memorial Hermann GI CPC committee. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Daram is married to an oncologist and has two sons. He enjoys pickleball, volunteering in the community, and spending time with his family.

What characteristics of your practice style would you like to emphasize?
I focus on complex diagnostic and therapeutic cases where technical precision matters. I track outcomes: complication rates, success rates, how patients do post-procedure and don’t shy away from cases others defer. I explain options and tradeoffs clearly; patients should understand the risks, not just feel reassured. I work collaboratively with referring physicians and stay current technically, including AI implementation for diagnostic accuracy. I mentor staff and students.
What sets your practice apart?
I bring faculty-level advanced endoscopy training combined with years of experience. I understand both the clinical and operational side of complex cases. I’m board-certified in obesity medicine, which most GI docs aren’t, giving me a different diagnostic lens on metabolic and functional GI disorders. I actively implement AI and imaging advances at the system level, not just theoretically. This combination of deep endoscopy expertise, obesity medicine, and tech integration.
What do your patients value most about having you as their physician?
My patients refer their family members and friends to me: that’s the real compliment. Hospital and office colleagues refer me their complex cases, because they trust the outcomes and my management approach. Staff request me as their physician. This combination of patient loyalty, peer referrals for difficult cases, and internal staff preference doesn’t happen from politeness alone, it reflects that I deliver technically rigorous care, explain clearly, take time on decisions, and follow through.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy movies and spending time with family. I play pickleball recreationally
